Written by Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin, Politik is the opening track from their 2002 album "A Rush Of Blood To The Head," the song was written on the day of 9/11 and was recorded on September 13th. A psychedelic-rock song, this song is seen as a reflection of society and the world. The track opens with heavy drums and guitars, and ends with an emotional piano-guitar outro. Muse lead singer Matt Bellamy assisted with the piano on the track, some fans say the track is reminiscent of the Muse song Apocalypse Please.
