Champion of the World was released as a tribute to Scott Hutchison, the lead singer of Frightened Rabbit who took his life in May 2018 after struggling with depression. The song was released on November 20th, which would’ve been Scott’s 38th birthday.
This song was inspired by Owl John’s song “Los Angeles, Be Kind.”
