The current lineup consists of Claudio Sanchez (vocals, guitars), Travis Stever (guitars), Michael Todd (bass), and Chris Pennie (drums). Former members include Jon Carleo (bass, left in 1996), Nate Kelley (drums, left in 2001), and Josh Eppard (drums, left in 2006).
Coheed and Cambria’s albums are concept albums, revealing the plot of a storyline called “The Amory Wars”, written by lead singer Claudio Sanchez. To date, the band has released four studio albums, two live albums, and various special-edition releases, with their latest release being “Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume Two: No World for Tomorrow in 2007”.
In 2006, long-time members Michael Todd and Josh Eppard left the band for non-creative differences. Chris Pennie, the drummer from The Dillinger Escape Plan replaced Eppard on drums; however, due to contractual obligations, Pennie could not participate in the recording of Coheed’s 2007 album, Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume II: No World For Tomorrow. Instead, Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters filled this role while Pennie toured with the band. Pennie is now a permanent member. In 2007 Michael Todd has returned to the band.

I'm with Meng a bit on that one. I can't see me ever not liking a band anymore just because they've become more popular or well known.

No! I will not tolerate more people listening to the band I like... if they get too big, I'll be a fan of a popular band!! :( that would be so shamefulll.... (rock band is a ton of fun and anyone who hates it is an antisocial toolbox. i hope coheed gets 100x as many listeners as they have now because they deserve it)

2,000 plays a week means you'd have to listen to them literally non-stop, or as near as makes no difference. I really doubt anyone in the world loves one band that much.

KingMengHuo wrote:
i never really thought of that... but i guess you're right. machinae does seem like it would go over well with most coheed fans
-
hotdog963al wrote:
Yeah I don't see how you can get near 2000 Coheed plays in a week without going insane, no matter how much of a fan you are.

Who cares if it's prog or not? It's still good music. Fuck expectations and labels.

Cozfunkel wrote:
Textbook prog?Really? I struggle to hear it and i'm not comparing them to any other "real" prog band, just don't see the resemblance.
-

Gowienczyk wrote:
That's a bit excessive. But I run tracks every now and then as I fall asleep: most of the time on accident. Shit happens. I don't see why it's a big deal either way.

KingMengHuo wrote:
take a bunch of one minute tracks, rename them to coheed and cambria songs, run them on mute in a second media player while you sleep, etc.... people do it all the time to try and become the "top fan" on an artist page.
