Saxophonist Cochemea Gastelum's solo work unites multiple genres - jazz, Latin, funk and rock - with indigenous-influenced polyrhythms, reflecting his Yaqui and Mescalero Apache Indian ancestry, and his time spent recording and touring with Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, The Budos Band and Antibalas.
