They were the artists in residence at my college last year. Not only did they put on a beautiful concert in a church at night, they were really down to earth and eager to help kids who pestered them with their own musical projects. Good musicians and good people as well.

Mmmmmm this is fantastic. Fans of Clogs might like A Troop of Echoes - instrumental, saxophone-driven rock. http://atroopofechoes.com

beautiful new record, they piss all over The National. I am bewildered that this interesting, different and beautiful music is overlooked in favour of the dour, meat and potatoes stodge of The National. Life's a bitch.

"Last Song" is soooo good. I love Matt Berninger. Shara Worden sounds crazy amazing on the album as well. Can't wait to see the whole thing performed with everyone at Big Ears.

I can't wait to hear Lantern on vinyl - my second Brassland purchase of the week. The first came in a hand-addressed envelope - this label really knows how to capture the hearts of its customers. Lady Walton is about as off-putting as I anticipated with the proliferation of vocals, but it's done quite tastefully almost without exception. Some very song-y compositions, but they still sound like a chamber group above anything else. Especially "Cocodrillo" uses voice in a really interesting way.
