Review: Halcyon Daze, the latest release by Cleveland Wehle, takes you away to a series of beautiful, lush, other world environments. Halcyon, if a planet in some very distant universe, is a peaceful yet complex landscape with varied terrain. I imagined myself floating through the various scenes, across fields, beaches, lakes, woods, into caves to the top of mountains and of course in space looking down at this wondrous alien world. If you are into new age, soundscape music, Halcyon Daze will not disappoint. I wouldn't be
surprised if you end up hearing it used in some future Sci-Fi movie, set in outer space. It's a gem. Cleveland Wehle is by far the best undiscovered artist in this genre. I can't wait to find out where he will take us next. –David Flood - Producer, WayCü Productions

Review: Music for a meditative traveler. Doesn't the best music transport us to another place, allowing an auditory and often visual involvement in a new or different experience? Doesn't it push or pull or guide, or simply immerse us in the sound? Cleveland Wehle's new album, The Crossing, certainly does. Mixing space, symphonic, and electronica soundscapes in gentle cascades, the music evokes a slow jazz line, a shimmering string, or smooth surfiness in turns. At times melodically simple, layers build slowly, sometimes leading to surprising complexity. The airy and dynamic phrasing is ideal for guided imagery. Careful listening to the medium length pieces (most of the 8 tracks are more than 8 minutes) is rewarded
with glimpses of longer phrases and themes. But simply following this music where it leads provides all the benefit we can ask: a gentle journey to a contemplative and peaceful place. Highly recommended. –Mark Murphy

Review: The album title is appropriate, as I found a richly textured ambient CD packed with contemplative and emotional pieces. Wehle cleverly incorporates a number of recurring themes throughout this work. These hypnotic passages appear and reappear, intertwined on a bed of slowly evolving organic soundscapes. There's the sensation of experiencing the subconscious while leaving it entirely up to the listener to interpret. The feelings these pieces evoke are likely to be as personal to the listener as they were to the artist. Strings rise and fall, sometimes accompanied by angelic choirs haunted by forgotten memories. I'm drawn to music which echoes times past. Though there are a number of contenders, for me the highpoint is 'Saffron Meadow' which opens with a gorgeous but mournful chorus only to be followed by a peaceful dream inducing set of recognizable variations. Slow, melancholy and evocative. This is a fine example of ambient music. For best effect, find a quiet spot to listen where you will not be disturbed. Enjoy. Vinnie S. - Musician

Weaving elements together in a delicate tapestry, the music pairs perfectly with meditation and relaxation. electronic instruments (piano, harp, strings) as well as sounds from the natural world (rainfall, birds, a distant harbor bell), SOLACE is intelligent ambient music that engages the ear as well as the mind. From the rippling chimes of Clare Island, to chords that extend like a horizon on Indigo Sky, to the lush romantic strings beneath Moon Garden, each song is densely layered yet deftly woven, leaving just enough silence between the sounds for a listener to fully immerse themselves in complex and graceful compositions like the title track, which is comprised of three sections (Intro, Hymn, and Return), and is a sweeping journey unto itself.
