Biography
Christopher Wong, composer of the feature film "Journey from the Fall", has established himself as a composer of choice among up and coming Asian American filmmakers. Christopher's score to "Journey from the Fall", described as "evocative" (Los Angeles Times), "monumental" (New York Times), and "thoughtful, serene, poignantly effective" (JWR Reviews), has brought recent critical praise to the composer. In addition, he has scored the feature films: "The Rebel "(Grand Jury Prize, Visual Communications Film Festival), "First Morning" (Best Picture, San Diego Asian American Film Festival), "Spirits", and "The White Horse is Dead", all of which have obtained distribution deals. Among the sixteen short films he has scored, The Anniversary (2004 Academy Awards semi-finalist) was influential in propelling his early career.
Trained in film scoring by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith, Christopher is active not only in film but also in theater and the concert hall. In March of 2004, the UC Irvine Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of maestro Stephen Tucker, performed his composition for full orchestra, Local Motion. Christopher is currently developing a new musical theater production with long time collaborator Weiko Lin, an Academy of Motion Pictures Nicholl Fellowship finalist.
