Recorded in his bathroom on his Macbook’s internal mic, this mixtape was dropped in 2010 and was closely followed by a sequel mixtape, I Am Just A Rapper 2.
All the songs in this mixtape include the phrase “I do not talk I am just a rapper” (This is also true for the sequel mixtape). This statement refers to how he doesn’t gossip or hate on other rappers, he just does his own thing. Also all the songs on this mixtape are Gambino rapping over alternative music.
