Co-work between UK Electronical Musician, Composer & Producer Nicholas Bracegirdle - Chicane, and Irish Celtic Folk Singer, Songwriter, Harpist and Philanthropist - Máire Ní Bhraonáin - known as Maire Brennan / Moya Brennan or sister of Enya.
”This was one of those tracks I wanted to do for such a long time, but it took me forever to workout how to make it happen. Firstly I needed to get the Clannad people onboard and reassure them that I wasn’t going to mangle the epic ‘Theme From Harrys Game’ from which ‘Saltwater’ was derived. The secondly I wanted Moya Brennen from Clannad to come and sing some new toplines and front the track.
Thankfully it all came together. The Video was also memorable, we shot in several locations, Gatecrasher’s venue in Sheffield, a big glass marine tank in a studio in London and last but not least on Woolacombe beach near Devon” (Nicholas Bracegirdle, 2008)
‘Saltwater’ reached the #6 position on the UK Singles Chart and became a popular dance track in clubs across Europe. Possibly the most sucessfull Chicane production so far.
