Just found out about the origin of the band's name. Pretty cool reference. I had imagined someone sitting in a room in Manhattan watching the sunlight move over the walls over the course of a day—a weird image, druggy and uncanny, like something out of late Philip K Dick. I know Thurston digs PKD's writing, so it seemed to make sense.

I think it is hard to "escape" from a certain sound when the singer from a band makes another band and even the music (besides of how the voice sounds) has a similar feeling, but that's not a bad thing because I'm really enjoying Chelsea Light Moving, and obviously I love Sonic Youth. Thurston can't go wrong.

It makes sense once you realise it was the name of a removal company that Philip Glass and Steve Reich ran in New York.

"Chelsea Light Moving" sounds like a Japanese band name. By that I mean it sounds like it was devised by someone with a poor understanding of the English language, yet the end result is a slightly nonsensical name that still sounds cool.

In what way are they corny? I like the Burroughs references. Thurston Moore's lyrics have often been intentionally 'corny'. It is part of his charm.

Yeah, It was made my Eva Prinz (fonder of Ecstatic Peace Library/roumered love interest of Thurston), oddly no one really turnt up to the exhibition, Thurston Moore is a really easy guy to talk to as well... even if it is hard talking to someone who is a complete and utter genius!

You bought the actual original artwork? Not a copy? Jesus, that will be worth money one day, now that it's an album cover.

The album is great, I actually bought the artwork that's on the front cover at a gallery exhibition Thurston was hosting a few months back in London for £50! Surely a bargain! (:

The guitars are surprisingly heavy and muscular on the album. It's one heavy punk rawk album. I love it.
