The Canterbury Tales is the debut album from American Dungeon Synth artist Chaucerian Myth, released digitally on July 2, 2016 on Chaucerian Myth's Bandcamp page before being pressed physically in cassette form in late 2016. It is a 3-hour long album that aims to capture Geoffrey Chaucer's classic work of Medieval literature "The Canterbury Tales" in sound form, re-telling each of the tales using Dungeon Synth, dark ambient and even drone at times. The Canterbury Tales received great positive appraisal upon release and the following months after, when it was widely discovered by fans of Dungeon Synth, and Chaucerian Myth soon became a figurehead within the genre itself, with his debut being regarded as his best work thus far, and even cited as an "exquisite soundtrack" to accompany the original text.
Since The Canterbury Tales, Chaucerian Myth has released two succeeding albums: Troilus and Criseyde and most recently The Book of Margery Kempe.
