“Navy Blue” was first teased by the Canadian model Charlotte D'Alessio, who is friends with the singer, during a Q&A session with fans on her Tumblr.
“Favorite song Char has ever made is called “Navy Blue” and it’s unreleased Keep an eye out. Their new albums are FUCKING CRAZY.“
Later on, Lawrence used the same title for her second tour and 5 months later, on September 5, 2019, she acknowledged the existence of the song on a series of Instagram Stories updates. Then on Septemeber 25, she announced the release date with a teaser on her social media.
