Biography

Chain Link Stains is a 3 piece hardcore rock band hailing from Morganton, NC. Based on DIY rock principles, CLS brings the noise with distorted guitar, thumping bass, and crashing cymbals, proving that the spirit of rock n' roll is alive and kicking. Lead vocalist and guitarist Lenny Muckle provides lyrics full of angst and a simultaneous contempt and admiration for the small town lifestyle. Beneath the crunch of the guitar, bassist and backup vocalist Caitlin "Twitchy" Bailey adds dynamics to the vocal ensemble and keeps the rhythm section pulsing with straight-forward bass lines. Wrapping up the trio is drummer Johnny Maben who provides the backdrop for the mayhem and is always grounded in an alternative beat. Johnny brings his technical drumming skills from his experience with jazz and is heavily influenced by rock. The chaotic methodology of this band is reminiscent of the beginnings of the post-hardcore genre in the 80's but is tempered with the straightforward rock influence of its members, creating a truly unique sound. The band have been working tediously to release "the basement demos," which are a precursor to their debut release "CLOUD 9."

As their myspace page reads "This stuff takes time. We put blood, sweat, tears, gas money, late-night eye crust and all kinds of other resources into making what you hear on this page. So, honestly, at this point all we can hope is that you like what you hear anywhere near as much as we do!"

Already having garnered a loyal local fanbase, Chain Link Stains will take to the road any chance they have to spread their music but will remain faithful to their home and all the people that support their music as it grows. As CLS's song "This is Home" says "We hate it here but this is home."
