Celeste explicitly called themselves nihilists with this record. They give meaning to their own lives and others' through their incomparable music.

The record itself is the musical incarnation of outer space’s nihilistic void. It is unrelenting. Unforgiving. All songs are indistinguishable from one another, they all segue into each other.

It was their debut full-length. After a short debut EP, entitled Pessimiste(s), they put themselves on the map with this record. Like outer space, it being vast, dark and cold, no one knowing what lies beyond; no one knew what to expect from Celeste or what they would unleash upon the music scene. Outer space is brimming with unknown phenomena and the most fear-inducing known phenomenon is black holes. Nihiliste(s) is a musical black hole that once it absorbs you, there is no escape; from Celeste's distorted void that tears apart all established musical notions.

They anted up the dissonance as well as added more and elements. The guitar tone got thicker and meatier. They distanced themselves even further from Mihai Edrisch territory whilst still keeping things . Johan sounds like his very atoms are decaying as he screams in that grating invariable black screamo shriek. The snare is absurdly sturdy. The bass slices through the chaos.

The record kick-started their tendency and practice of featuring women imagery as artwork. The cover is risqué in the sense that it depicts a preteen lying in bed with an exposed bosom, the full image depicting her with a lifted dress that shows her stockings and she appears not to be wearing any underwear but the lighting conceals it. Implies violation.

Their lyrics are anything but pretty, like the music itself. Pure darkness.
