Ticket to Ride is the debut studio album by the American music duo Carpenters. At the time of its initial release in 1969, it was issued under the title Offering, with a completely different cover photo. It was a commercial failure and produced only one minor hit single, a ballad version of The Beatles song "Ticket to Ride". After the Carpenters subsequent breakthrough, however, the album was reissued internationally under the name Ticket to Ride on November 10, 1970, with a cover photo taken by photographer Jim McCrary.

All lead vocals by Karen Carpenter and/or Richard Carpenter; all tracks written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis, except "All My Life" and "Don't Be Afraid" that were written only by Richard and "Ticket to Ride", "Get Together" and "Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing" that are covers of The Beatles, Dino Valente and Buffalo Springfield, respectively.

According to Richard, Karen was sick during some recording sessions and he was insecure with his work, them both being 19 and 22 at the time, respectively, so he wish they did a better job for their debut. "Certainly, other than "Invocation", "Benediction", "Your Wonderful Parade" and, of course, "Ticket", nothing else should be on that album.", said him in Carpenters: The Musical Legacy.
