Biography
Camille Miller (whose married name is Camille Herbison) has never been one to avoid facing her demons. This process began in full force during her early teenage years as a way to express her frustration with the lack of outward communication that comes with the territory of growing up as an “army brat”. Songs enabled her to get her voice heard under the less threatening and clever disguise of a cute song.
Born in Germany, and raised on military bases all across Canada, Camille grew up on Motown, Carly Simon, The Carpenters, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and the Rolling Stones. These artists shaped Camille’s musical tastes at an early age, and were the voices that put her to sleep at night and still provide comfort to her as she brings an updated version of vocal grace and soul of yesteryears to her modern pop sound.
Since the mid-90’s she has been based out of the Vancouver/Victoria area. In 1998 Camille released her first solo album “Things People See”, during which time she continued honing her skills as a songwriter, singer and guitar player. With help of producer Doug Elliott and Drummer Pat Steward (The Odds), and the introduction to co-writer Nick Haggar. Camille’s sophomore release “She Knows” (Synergy Records 2002) garnered a Much Music Video grant for “I Always Will” and two placements on the popular TV series “Cold Squad”.
After three tours across the United Kingdom, with some booking help from Bruce Allen (manager of Bryan Adams, Michael Buble), Camille caught the ear of Bristol-based Sugar Shack Records who released her third album “Carnarvon Street.” (Sugar Shack UK 2005) with Colin Nairne (Barney Bentall) as the sound engineer and Todd Simko (Pure) as the mix engineer.
Camille has also lent her writing and singing talents to several other artist’s CD including the song “Lost” by US- based Electronica group “Baligomingo” whose album “Beneath the Surface” was released on BMG/RCA in 2002 and still a popular download on i-Tunes. She also wrote and sang four songs on Robert Chojnacki’s latest album “Saxophonic” (BMG Poland released 2006) and did two national tours throughout Poland with him and his band. In May 2007 Camille took part in an outdoor concert featuring Robert Chojnacki with The Baltic Symphony Orchestra. This experience enabled Camille to start to build a fan base in Poland and secure a house gig twice a year in Warsaw.
With extensive touring experience (UK, Poland, Canada), 3 albums under her belt, radio airplay, showcases, TV appearances and song placements, Camille is ready to bring her music to a larger audience.
Eight months in the making, her latest album “Somewhere Near The Truth” has a nation-wide release date of October 4th, 2007. Recorded and engineered by Geraldo Dominelli (Loverboy, West End Girls) at the infamous Mushroom Studios in Vancouver, the album is a diary of emotions that we ALL know too well……… Lust/Love/Regret/Frustration/and of course, the joys of couch surfing whilst on tour.

Camille Miller nunca teve medo de enfrentar seus medos. Este processo iniciou-se durante o início de sua adolescência como uma forma de expressar sua frustração com a falta de comunicação externa vinda com a experiência de crescer como uma "criança do exército". Canções fizeram com que ela conseguisse escutar sua voz de forma menos ameaçadora e um inteligente disfarce através uma música bonita.
Nasceu na Alemanha, e cresceu em bases militares em todo o Canadá, Camille cresceu ouvindo Motown, Carly Simon, The Carpenters, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, e os Rolling Stones. Estes artistas formaram seu gosto musical desde muito cedo, e foram essas vozes que escutava para dormir à noite para lhe dar conforto, sendo assim ela traz uma versão atualizada de graça vocal e a velha escola de “Soul Music” para o seu moderno som pop.
Em meados dos anos 90, ela morou fora de área de Vancouver / Victoria. Camille também doou seu talento para CDs de vários outros artistas, incluindo vocais para a canção "Lost" pelo grupo Electronica norte-americano "Baligomingo", cujo álbum "Beneath the Surface", foi lançado pela BMG / RCA em 2002 e ainda um download popular pelo I -Tunes. Em maio de 2007, participou de um concerto ao ar livre com o mesmo e a Orquestra Sinfônica do Báltico, com isso Camille começou a construir uma base de fãs na Polónia e garantir sua presença em casas de show duas vezes por ano, em Varsóvia.
Seu mais recente álbum " Somewhere Near The Truth " foi lançado em escala nacional no Canada e através do Itunes para o mundo em 23 de fevereiro de 2008. Gravado e projetado por GeraldoDominelli (Loverboy, West End Girls) no famoso Mushroom Studios, em Vancouver, o álbum é um diário de emoções que todos nós conhecemos muito bem … Luxúria ..Amor .. Lamento .. Frustração .. e claro, as alegrias de estar na estrada, durante a turnê. Para acompanhar o lançamento do álbum de Camille com Sound of Pop Records , tiveram apoio do VideoFACT para a produção de um vídeo para o segundo single "So Frustrated”. O vídeo foi filmado em Vancouver por Mischa Hrziwnatzki.
Com a experiência de uma extensa turnê (Reino Unido, Polónia, Canadá), 3 álbuns já lançados, rádios, mostras, aparições na TV e canais da música, Camille está pronta para levar sua música a um público maior.
Em outubro de 2009, Camille deu a luz a uma linda garota.
Isso pode ter mudado algumas coisas, mas o amor pela escrita, gravação e reprodução de música para as pessoas continua o mesmo.
Ela mudou-se para o Brasil janeiro de 2010 e lançou o novo single "Artificial Joy" (escrito por Nick Haggar e Miller Camille) disponível no iTunes para todo o mundo.
Após um ano de composição, gravação e aprendizado sobre como ser mãe, Camille está de volta e em breve em um local perto de você.
