Biography

"With a name like Bucktown Kickback, you may as well not even show up to the venue if you can’t throw down with some good old-fashioned, fiery, oh-mama-that’s-what-I-like roots tunes. Luckily for you, these dudes can do that and more, touching perfectly on everything from country slide blues to creepy, creek-bed-at-night Americana. I dare you to miss this.”
METRO SPIRIT, Augusta, GA

Formed in 2002 among the rich Bluegrass landscape of the Ohio River Valley and within earshot of Appalachia, Bucktown Kickback quickly earned respect from live music fans hungry for honest, hard driving, hot picking, barn burning, foot stomping, original songs about life’s ups and downs and the relationships that come along for the ride.

In 2005 Bucktown Kickback released their highly anticipated debut album SPEAKEASY which saw heavy rotation on AAA, Independent, College and Satellite Radio stations throughout the U.S. and abroad. Starting in 2006, Nashville, TN became the base of operations for the band’s last two releases and promotional tours (LOST IN YOUR OWN HOMETOWN and fiction pickin’) following the move of lead singer/songwriter/band leader Adam Brooks Dudding.

“Sturdy is the journey, slow and steady is the pace.” Dudding says, “We’re here for the long-haul…the path these songs have forged and the performance opportunities this band has gotten makes for a real good time!”

To date, Bucktown Kickback has performed to a growing fan-base in over 20 U.S. States throughout the Southeast and Midwest including appearances in music hubs like New York City, Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA, Nashville, TN(of course), Denver, CO and at legendary venues on the live music circuit (The Knitting Factory, Eddie’s Attic, Bluebird Cafe, 12 South Taproom, Woodlands Tavern and The Newport Music Hall) as well as larger gatherings like the Gauley River Festival, Blue Ridge BBQ Festival and Floydfest. They’ve also had the opportunity to open up for Alabama, Junior Brown, Railroad Earth, The Deadstring Brothers, Sol Driven Train and Sons of Bill along the way.

The band is looking forward to their upcoming performances, seeing old friends and fans out on the road, meeting new ones as their touring expands, and getting the chance to go over new material for another upcoming release. They hope to see YOU at a Bucktown Kickback show real soon!
