I kind of expected I wouldn't like this album before listening to it. Now, having listened to it, I can say that I was more or less right.

I really dig these late 80s commercial albums from beloved 70s singer songwriters. Jackson Brown's Lives in the Balance is another. Both artists really honed in on the hooks, and had fairly decent synth tones. No, not even close to what Gamma or Rush had been doing but a grade above most of their contemporaries.

One of his best albums. Absolute masterpiece. Ride down, baby, into this tunnel of love...

this album could sound so much better without those 80s synths and drum machines, still a good album.

another brilliant entry in his discography. i didn't bother with this album for a long time after getting the video anthology and not really digging the album's title track, but i've now come to realise its quality. great record.

For You is an epic visual storytelling time machine that encourages you to hop on for a ride down thunderous roads to simpler times for a journey through the heart of darkness where the fans feel so close and intimately personal with Springsteen like he's an old college buddy. This book is not just a fine addition to your collection, but is essential for any Springsteen fan. It is a treasure trove of pictures and stories that will not just take you for a ride down memory lane, but will leave you with an impenetrable sense of hope much the same way you feel cruising down the highway and having 'Thunder Road' blast from your speakers with the wind in your hair. When was the last time the written word did that?" www.foryoubruce.com
