Biography

1) punk rock band from Canada
2) Synth-Pop band from Germany http://brigaderosse.bandcamp.com/album/brigade-rosse-nachts-am-fenster

1) Brigade Rosse is a trio formed in North Bay, Ontario, Canada in 1993. The band comprises bass player LLL, guitarist EC, and drummer Ed M. All three members contribute to vocals. Guest singers, musicians, and members of the audience often join the band both in the recording studio and on stage during performances. Brigade Rosse emerged from what it saw as a boring local music scene in the early 90s. They vowed to play faster, louder, and with more social meaning than their contemporaries with the intention of creating as much controversy as possible. With most songs containing angry and explicit lyrics, fights breaking out at live shows, the drunken behaviour of its members, and the occasional catchy riff, the band's plan succeeded and they quickly grew a large fan following of disillusioned youth. The three members and those surrounding of them became known as more of a gang than a musical band. Bass player LLL had originally come from a music background of pure rock (influenced by Kiss ), guitarist EC from old-school punk (influenced by the Sex Pistols ), while drummer Ed M listened primarily to what was happening in the Manchester scene at the time (The Charlatans. They found common ground in the music of Nirvana, Ramones, Forgotten Rebels, The Cult, and most notably The Clash. Although Brigade Rosse have never released an official album, recordings of the band have circulated. The band's 1993 self-titled demo tape (known also as the "Silver Shadow tape") was widely copied and received radio play in several Canadian cities. Their 1994 studio recordings were coupled with live tracks and several songs recorded in Ottawa in 1999 and distributed as a limited release CD entitled "The Collective," at a live performance in 2004.

2) BR formed as “classical Synthie-Duo” in 2008. Before, both members worked with different acts from the “Vintage Electronics-Scene”. From the very beginning both wanted to create a special mixture of different typical german underground-styles. Their music is heavily influenced by Neue Deutsche Welle (like DAF), (rather lyrically) by Deutschpunk from the Eighties (like Abwärts or Chaos Z) and, of course by German EBM from the Nineties (like Plastic Noise Experience, Serpents). With three of their old heroes they already collaborated in the last years: Rorschach Garden, Psychic Force, Serpents. They released two successful CDs (“Entzauberung der Welt 2009 + “Nachts am Fenster” 2012 … Both released on that famous label Plasticfrog – So they are labelmates with Geisterfahrer and ADN' Ckrystall), two soldout 7”Inches (“Weltgeist” 2009 + “Tatort Neon” 2011). In 2012, they performed in Madrid (Spain) and together with legends Alien Sex Fiend in Berlin. Fascinated by the former east, by communist architecture for example, they rather belong to left side of politics. Sure! But they do not want to sympathize with terrorism (neither Naziscum, Islamic or Left-wing Terror…). Moreover both guys feel inspired by the squatters of the Eighties and their culture - To be honest: They found their name on the shirts of THE CLASH
