This was one of the first songs that motivated to learn to play bass, and because I was stupid rather than buy an entry-level bass I ponied up the scratch, used money from my stash and bought a $2500 Rickenbacker 4001 bass specifically so I could learn this solo while looking as cool as possible. To this day, a decade later, it might still be the most reckless decision I've ever taken financially, considering I didn't evne know if I was gonna be any good playing this instrument let alone like it. But it was worth it just for the first time I played this in front of the mirror.

Seems like it, sure some might argue it's not played as well/written as it could but I've always thought it totally fits the song and in saying that it's very iconic to me.

The ripped riff from 'You Really Got Me' , which made its way until recent R.E.M.'s 'Circus Envy', (1994) making it a piece of pop culture that made a 40 years race into the airwaves like a Voyager probe into space

The story behind the title of NIB is that Geezer's narrow, pointed beard at the time resembled the 'nib' of a pen. The acryonym Nativity In Black is rooted in urban legend, rather than actual intent by the band.
