The stand-out lead single to billy woods & Kenny Segal’s critically acclaimed collab album "Hiding Places".

Spongebob gets its name on the popular Nickelodeon character, and cartoon, Spongebob Squarepants. This was most done to juxtapose the dark, suggestive, mature imagery in the lyrics with a title that symbolizes childhood innocence, often regarded as much simpler times. The song contains main allusions to water give the song a motif connected to Spongebob, since the show is set underwater.

"An object in motion stays in motion, I wait ‘til the sea calm, Overseas connection choppy, she’s gettin' worse."

The title is also used to reference the choruses opening lines:

"SpongeBob, the whole operation underwater."

The song seems to give encrypted details on the themes that unravel into a story of a suicide bomber during Operation: Dessert storm, while touching on topics like PTSD:

"Explosions, outside bombs burstin' in the sky
Streets, sidewalks, it’s the third of July."

To the things these extremist groups get promised from their religious beliefs (something suicide bomber’s were often associated with. for example, getting promised seventy-two virgins in the afterlife in exchange, and similar observations of their beliefs). Also mentions how they are forbidden to worship more than one god.

“It’s only one God,” what we said in Tora Bora
The bombs was on us, the bombs was on us
Came back to God like, “Muhfucka, you promised, you promised.”

The music video contains one of billy woods rare appearances on camera, though his face is blurred out through the entirety of the song. This adds all more to the mystic of billy woods, something billy is well known for. He is walking around a convenient store while seemingly rapping out the words of the song.
