Don't think there would many arguments... but there are SO MANY genres and Incredible drummers in each respective one... Give Sly Dunbar or Neil Peart a good listen...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8tHWCy6QrU#t=107 Billy on returning to playing Tama. Not a drummer by any means, but this is cool considering he was one of the first big names to endorse them.

"best known for his jazz fusion in the 1970s, with John McLaughlin’s Mahavishnu Orchestra". Respect for this, to Billy

"Spectrum" (1973): Jazz-fusion con toques funk, rock, blues, ciertos matices soul, velocidad vertiginosa, humor, inteligencia, virtuosismo, con Tommy Bolin tocando una guitarra sintetizada, piano eléctrico y moog de Jan Hammer, vientos, toques prog de flauta, solos de batería inimitables... Disco imprescindible.

I saw him perform live 4 years ago. Easily one of the best drummers I have ever heard.

Hmm It is such a shame a lot of his tracks are spoiled by trumpets or other instruments who are way too shrill at some points:(. Did he also make more music with piano for example, or with less shrill/high used instruments?

I've been listening to Billy C. for over 20 years. I saw him at the Philedelphia Spectrum a long time ago when 'Spectrum' came out. He was strapped in a chair spinning around and upside down while he drummed to 'Quadrant' 4'. It was freakin unbeleivable! I've turned alot of people on to him. I have just about everything he's done and been involved in. I first heard him in the early 70's and still think he's the best. I hate it when some people tell me they've never heard of him. I actually met him momentarily with a friend who had back stage passes. My buddy asked him for some drumsticks and Billy said "no, wait for Thanksgiving and take them from a turkey" Hah! My buddy was pissed! A true living legend! Jimmy C.

I think Inner Conflicts is measurably improved by staring at the image on the sleeve while listening...

This dude is amazing. I heard one song (Rush hour, with George Duke) and I´m totally in love with his style. If i´d like to find more of his music, where should I start? Please leave a shout at my profile if you have suggestions:)

Amazing album, & Tommy Bolin was a great player... he was like 22 or younger when this was done.
