This is fun piano rock from a guy who seems really down to earth. He's just a normal guy who loves his family and plays piano for his fans. His topics are basic, everyday life stuff, accessible to everyone without sacrificing musicianship. Also, it seems he played basketball with Elliott Smith on occasion, so that's cool. RIP

I definitely agree that this album is a whole lot less sarcastic and witty than any of Ben's other stuff, particularly compared to Rockin the Suburbs, but it's still very nice. Personal favourites are Landed and Gracie.

Rockin the Suburbs = Crazy fun stuff.... Songs for Silverman = Heartfelt Stuff ... both great albums :)

this is an amazing album, whenever i listen to sentimental guy, time, and prison food one right after the other in that order i get tingly and emotionally overwhelmed. it's remarkable.

The only thing I hated about Rockin' the suburbs was that the actual song didn't exactly fit with the rest of the album, although I still love the song itself.
