Biography
Bemmy R is a lover of music that tells a story. Having a good tune is only half the battle, he believes music also has to speak to it's audience.
Inspired by music starting with Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, and moving on to more contempary artists such as Stephen Fretwell and Bon Iver Bemmy has always tried to write songs that are a snapshot in time. Music should invoke memories of times and places not only for the writer, but for the listener. He believes a song should be as powerful as a photo at placing you in the past, and this can only happen with a connection to the music. Describing songs as something you should come back to "again and again" to "hear different meanings everytime" Bemmy appears to favour quality over quantity when it comes to releasing his music.
Bemmy was born in Oxford in 1985, and has been playing guitars since he was 12. He has been in and out of various bands including Silverstones and Le Vens. Bemmy is now settled as an acoustic solo artist, using his spare time to capture his thoughts and feelings on disc in the studio at his Abingdon home.
