By far their best album and most re-listenable album in my opinion. Most of their other better albums have a couple of memorable songs on them, this one is full of many of their stand out songs.

Insanely underrated. This is classic Belle and Sebastian before their sound became progressively more mainstream, which began with Dear Catastrophe Waitress.

Best cover, best title, not their best standalone songs but one of their best listen as a whole albums in my opinion.

this was the first B&S album I ever listened to. i remember exactly when and where (it was at a listening station at a now defunct Tower Records store, the year it came out). i was so immediately hooked, it made me get all their prior albums. LOVE this album.

Biricharas >> The twin sisters pictured on the cover of "Fold Your Hands Child, You Walk Like a Peasant" are Gyða and Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir both former members of the Icelandic experimental group múm. Kristín is now married to David Portner (Avey Tare) of Animal Collective. They released Pullhair Rubeye in 2007 together. You can find many great photos of her on the internet.
