Not that anyone cares, but I'm so relieved this album exists. 2022 has been so tough on me, and I feel exactly how Beck describes in the Sea Change that it pains me. I've been able to put the pain and madness away just by listening to Lonesone Tears sometimes and even learning how to play Guess I'm Doing Fine on the guitar so I could relax a bit more. Beck is so incredibly talented and I'm just so thankful art exists because crying doesn't make all the pain away, the art does.

I like to think I'm a pretty big Beck fan but this one just does not grab me. It's beautiful and whatnot, but it completely lacks the diversity that all of his other albums have; it feels like a one-trick pony, and all the tracks just sort of blend together. I enjoy it but out of his more stripped-back and mellow albums I really think Mutations does it the best.

Major disappointment of an album, especially coming after Midnite Vultures. I never understood why people rave about it. To each his own, i guess.

After all the years since it came I still find no words for this album. Speachless forever.

This is the album I always recommend to people who think they don't like Beck. Absolute masterpiece.

impossible to express just how profoundly and how intensely this speaks to me, the kind of connection words simply cannot signify....

I remember when this album came out. My friend and I were riding our bikes side by side down the sidewalk singing "Lost Cause". An old lady came the opposite direction on her bicycle, and, like all old people, she thought we would move for her. We didn't. We just went on singing. The old lady had to swerve, and she was launched into the bushes. We loled and rode on. Ah, good memories!

this is probably the closest thing anyone's ever getting to a fourth Nick Drake album (fifth if Time of No Reply counts as a fourth)
