Hello! I make music under the name "Avargyűjtő" (Fallen Leaves Collector) in Budapest, Hungary. In addition to Surfrock and Krautrock, I primarily follow the traditions of contemporary Eastern European and Russian Post-Punk. I don't make money with my music, and I don't plan concerts either. I have money, and i don't want to be famous. For me it's just about the Post-Punk, Krautrock and Surfrock legacy, which I'm trying to authentically carry forward. ........................................................... speaking as someone in their late teens i'd say the allure of the olympia scene is still very much there, just in a different way. definitely nothing like it would've been to grow up alongside it, but considering 90% of the whole bedroom pop "revival" or whatever is just repackaged K i'd say we're still following calvin's footsteps 40 years or so on

i spent last summer in the pacific northwest and the whole time listened to only 90s and early 00s pnw indie. k recs, krs, sub pop, etc. ended those three months with a 24 hour playlist and i felt my mind in that childlike whimsical headspace the whole time. it was a solitary journey for me, exploring my own mind with the weight of my usual world far enough away. but it felt to me like, while the 90s olympia scene were so tight knit of a community (perhaps irreplicable), in their songs ultimately everyone was singing about their own loneliness. so in a way i felt transported right there into their world and ethos. i went up to the business in anacortes and heard stories of phil elverum's arduous attempts to run his own record label and calvin's occasional visits and the old church in town that was converted into a studio that musics come record at, small local acts and big names like robin pecknold. to me the IPU lives on!
