The introductory track for "Cosmic", Bazzi’s debut album. In “Dreams”, Bazzi fantasizes about sharing romantic and intimate moments with a certain girl that he has an eye for. This sets the tone for the rest of the album, focusing on the theme of love, youth and nostalgia.
In a video with MTV, Bazzi explained the production and inspiration behind the song:
"“Dreams” actually came from a dream I had… And it’s funny, ‘cause the first sample we clicked on was the chords that we used for “Dreams”. The first, it was like, like. “Let’s rock with that.” An then we paled 'em out and switched 'em up a bit, and “Dreams” came about, couple hours, just like the rest of the songs. One of my favourite songs on the album, 'cause I really experimented with the production on it, and if you listen close, there’s birds chirping and all these really nostalgic elements that make you feel like you’re actually dreaming."
An official music video for “Dreams” was released on Bazzi’s YouTube channel on 12 November, 2018.
