God I fucking hate the 'Viking Metal' name, but somehow Epic Viking Metal suits this album (as well as Hammerheart and Nordland II) so greatly that I won't even complain.

i don't know: as big a Bathory fan as i am (i've listened to this and Nordland II so much that i can play all these songs on guitar), the songs on Blood on Ice kind of started melting together (especially "The Sword", "The Stallion", "The Woodwoman" and, to some degree, "The Lake"). Here, everything has its own feel and i don't ever get lost or feel like the music is melting together and sounding too similar

''It's hard to believe that this album is from 2003.'' @zanyanton Try to listen To Summoning and Caladan Brood They still doing better albums than bathory even in 2013

Epic , magical , dark and yet so beautiful. This has got to be one of the most epic albums of all time. 3

Yeah, Nordland I and II are his best works. Melodic and epic. His range of vocals on these albums is insane.
