picture this: it's 2008. it's a saturday night and you're staying in to game. you can choose between dota, counter strike, world of warcraft, starcraft, etc. you turn this on in the background cause you know it's about to be real gamer hours tonite. can someone tell me what it was about eurodance, europop, house, trance, happy hardcore, etc. and why did those genres lend so hard to internet culture and gaming of the early and mid 00s. i'm serious i have no clue why- idk what my music taste would be today without those genres

Personally, I think it's because a lot people who played those games like me have an interest somewhat in electronics, the internet and computers and therefore electronic music. With computer generated sounds and at the time large internet presence and what not.
