The Atom Heart Mother vibes at the beginning... I also wish the story/songs were fleshed out more; what is already here I like a lot!

I do agree with a lot of people that the narration makes for quite an annoyance compiling music playlists. It would have been better to have used it only on a live album. But personally I´m more annoyed with the story being so poorly executed. Too many details have been left out and Lavinia´s involvement, as her small mistake leading to instant damnation, doesn´t make sense. I´m normally not so focused on the lyrics but the narration makes it impossible not to want to follow the story. Apart from that I do like a lot of the songs.

When I talked tags I meant the name of the songs, not the genre tags. Those are ok, the names of the songs are not.

This won't be going down as my favourite Ayreon album or even close to it, but I still rather like it. It works best when taken as a whole, with only a few standout individual tracks (primarily the singles) and I do have some gripes with how some of the vocalists are handled - Dianne deserves a proper role on an Ayreon album to start with and I think the two Furies could have been developed more as actual characters. They feel like the Angel's cheerleaders as it currently stands. I came up with my own subplot where one Fury supports the Angel helping Daniel and the other rebels against the decision. I imagine such a song being Bovio's in support singing cleanly and Westendorp's in revolt, using her growls which we only got to hear in the background on the actual album.

Solid album, though not my favourite (that would be The Theory of Everything). I really found the narrative parts off-putting (would've been better if they were separate) and that's why I've replaced all those songs with the Guide Vocal versions. Second half drags a bit, but first half is solid.
