This is the best Ayreon album, hands down. The music is great, the cast is great and, most of all, the narrative is fantastic! I love ITEC, but the narrations annoy me a bit (as with Transitus now). Here the story is told purely from the perspective of the characters. Also, it is very universal, as it deals with human emotions - the psychology is spot on. Awesome work!

Interesting that this is the fan favorite Ayreon album. I find James LaBrie makes it pretty flat and uninteresting as a main vocalist choice...more of an Electric Castle/Universal Migrator fan for sure.

I HATE the "epic" thing and the "Power metal like" stuff, but i can't hate this album.

Nostalgia... THE kicked my ass in high school. Nowadays I'd say the best one was Universal Migrator 1.

no offenses, people, but I think 01011001 is so much better than Human Equation. Ride the Comet, Newborn Race, Age of Shadows, etc are wonderful tracks

Why is it LaBrie's performance on this album is ten times better than anything he's done in Dream Theater?
