"Not Like That" is the third single from Ashley Tisdale's debut studio album Headstrong. The song was written by David Jassy, Joacim Person, Nicolas Molinder and Tisdale herself. Sonically, the song is a dance-pop song with rnb and middle eastern influences.

The track was officially released on January 25, 2008 in Europe as the third single from the album and was the first single not released in the United States. It was a commercial success in Europe, becoming the singer's second single to reach the top 20 in Germany and top 40 in Austria. The song also charted in Switzerland, Czech Republic, and on the Eurochart Hot 100. There was no official single release in North America.

Lyrically, the song describes Ashley Tisdale's experience in the entertainment industry. She sings about the struggles of frequently being in the media and how people do not know the real her. This was one of the few songs Tisdale helped write for the album. The music video details this, portraying Tisdale reading tabloids about herself with false information. The video features the singer's sister, Jennifer Tisdale, as well as V Factory member, Jared Murillo.

Ashley Tisdale performed the song on multiple occasions in the United States and in Europe to promote the release of her album. She first performed the song on the set of Good Morning America, after performing her previous singles "Be Good To Me" and "He Said She Said". The performance was not broadcast, however, and was only available for the studio audience. Tisdale also performed the song on Live With Regis and Kelly, with part of the performance being broadcast. The song was also performed on Tisdale's "Headstrong Tour Across America".
