Not gonna lie, it's underrated. This is probably a 7.5/8 album, not a 5 as so many reviewed it at the time.

There are choice cuts along with some alright tracks that I still return to, but things get a little weird in the middle (maybe too much of everything) — and that's not for everyone.

“Too much of everything” is a great way to put it. Perhaps it’s all deliberate. There’s someone on The Suburbs page suggesting that even the way the songs are structured on that album is somehow a quality reflecting the feeling of suburbs as well. Maybe this is also happening on Reflektor, it being a double album with contrasting halves. So it would make sense to me that a lot of EN could be interpreted to sound like if every aspect of a song’s sound was cranked up to 11 giving it this kind of blown-out sound. It took me a while to appreciate, but it’s kind of brilliant. There are so many analyzations of Reflektor songs representing whatever concepts, but I never see that about EN and I feel like a lot of interpretations of these songs are totally drowned out by how people feel about the sound.

It looks like you're an Arcade Fire fanboy and probably not going to be convinced by anything at this point, but Win's been accused of sexual abuse by multiple women and I believe them.

This ages like a fine wine, loved it when it first came out, and love it even more now. Change some tracks in the middle with some new WE songs and it's a perfect AF LP.

First two songs are good, last two songs are good - everything in between is entirely unlistenable. That's still 18 minutes of good songs though!

For 5 years I didn't listen to this album cause I was sure that synth-disco is not what I can like from Arcade Fire. But right before the release of "WE" decided to check it, damn, this is a cool album. There are a couple of mid tracks of course, but overall it's fucking awesome

garbage, piece of shit album. the instrumentation, especially with the added synths was actually really nice, catchy, and provided a good change of pace for the band's previous baroque esque sound. but the lyrics were just too cringe inducing and win's vocals felt bland/uninspired at times (like in signs of life) and regine's were unbearable (like in creature comfort and electric blue) that I can't let the previous factor I named blind me from that. I could probably see myself coming back to some of the stuff here though if I felt like it.

I actually kinda like this one, Creature Comfort is the kind of loud shouty thing that I was missing from their previous two albums, and the rest of the track list has nice variety, from the creative tracks to the middle to the slower ones at the end. I was too harsh on this when it came out. Now I got to go back to Reflektor and try to figure out what the hell they were trying to do on that one

if you don't find at least a little bit of enjoyment out of this album, Im sorry you're probably a close minded bigot and should really reexamine your taste in music and ultimately who you are as person on this planet. most of the people I see hating on this have the same general taste or listen only to a certain particular type of music coming from a particular type of person . expand your fucking horizons and get the stick out of your ass. It's the 21 fucking century for christ's sake. it was the natural progression of this band to explore a more electronic sound. they did so pretty magnificently. now before you losers who dislike my take, roast my musical preferences, allow me to get the first laugh: suck my balllsssss!!!!

accusing someone of being a bigot just for not liking an album is a bit of a reach, but ok. I have no issues with bands changing up their sound or progressing, I actually encourage it; but things can be hit or miss. and with everything now, it was just a miss for a lot of people

After getting into Arcade Fire in 2018 I always avoided to listen to this album because "everyone" seemed to hate this. Now I finally took the time to take a listen and have to say that I think it's pretty damn great! Very catchy and diverse. Sure, nothing compared to their first 3 albums but pretty much holds up with Reflektor in my opinion.

this album is so criminally underrated. The concept of Everything Now Co. and etc is a little bit generic indeed, but it has such good songs (Electric Blue, Put Your Money On Me, title track, Creature Comfort), they expanded their sound without losing their roots. Of course it does not match Funeral, The Suburbs or Reflektor, but it don't deserve the hate it gets

What about Put Your Money On Me? I've always seen that as one of the best songs on the album.

Dreadful. Made me dislike the band after their obnoxious quasi-cynical campaign. Only just able to listen to their older stuff,

Not a bad album by any means. Though it has the same effect on me as "The Suburbs". Starts and finishes superbly with a mixed bag of tracks in the middle. I do imagine it all to be enhanced in a live setting though, hopefully I'll see them soon.

If I judged artists by only their worst songs, there wouldn't be any artists I'd like. I'm fully satisfied that I enjoy 6 tracks on this album. Hell, I only ever liked 5 tracks on Funeral, and that album made me a fan back in the day. Granted, it would be better if it were 13 amazing tracks, but hey, maybe someone else out there likes the tracks I don't. So I'll be happy with my 6.

This is an album of extremes, it has some really great and really bad songs. Could've been a great ep if they took out the middle section.

If this album was released from other band it wouldn't get so much hate, the problem is that it's arcafe fire and people tend to freak out when a band tries going in another direction, wich is not bad. Everything Now isn't that bad as people keep saying, Arcade Fire are trying another sounds which is what bands should do not like AC/DC, GN'R that in every album sounds exacly the same from the begining.
