I really like the album overall musically. However, the dynamics were crushed in production which makes me a sad boy.

Maybe their worst album, but it's not a bad one. "Remove tracks 2, 3, and 4, and it's a damned good album." [2]

Oh COME the hell ON!!! When I see people say "this album is shit / fail", "shitty commercial record", etc., I wonder - had they actually listen to it? Seriously, people, open your eyes and listen with your fucking ears! Have you noticed ONLY the commercial shit tracks and not the real Apocalyptica ones? I mean, seriously - At The Gates Of Manala is 7 minutes long and Rage of Poseidon is almost 9, and they are like, ANTI-boring and ANTI-generic. And the other ones aren't bleak either! <=/

I have to say I'm slightly dissappointed with this album. World Collide was already pretty commercialised, but it was still fucking awesome and still kept the old Apocalyptica feeling a lot. 7th Symphony just wants to have singles in the charts so badly it hurts. I really like Not Strong Enough, though.

Как жаль, что такая изумительная (когда то) группа, скатилась в настолько сраную коммерцию.

Obviously aimed at teenage masses and radio airwaves with its hypercompressed sound. Sad, as once I regarded this band as innovative.

Worlds Collide 2.0. Distortion and screeches which seemed crazy and unusual on Worlds Collide, are overused and therefore don't sound so unique. Almost all vocal tracks are simply average modern alternative metal with cellos, which mostly even don't sound like cellos anymore. Is this Apocalyptica? Gosh... Not really a bad album though. Sounds more progressive than anything they ever wrote, at least at the first listen. Then there is some stuff like On the Rooftop with Quasimodo which is pretty similar to traditional Apocalyptica. And there's "Bring Them To Light"... symphonic thrash metal? You don't hear that everyday. Bottom line: if you skip the clearly teen/radio tracks and accept the more agressive (mostly) approach, 'tis some neat stuff.
