“SAD B!TCH” is a classic pop track, expressing how Anne-Marie is over her bad emotions and problems of 2022. The track is almost an introduction to Anne-Marie’s next era, she discusses feeling different, writing new songs, and also expresses how the subject of the second verse is stuck in the past. She also expresses that she wants to focus on her friends and social life, rather than wasting her time being sad and worrying about her love life.
The music video, filmed in Adventure Island Amusement Park, reflects these emotions as she can be seen rolling her eyes and overall having more fun in contrast to stressing out all the time. Snippets from the music video were also used when the track was being first teased on TikTok in January 2023.
The song was originally released in February 2023, but later appeared on her third studio album, UNHEALTHY in July of the same year.
