Biography

Andy and the Rockets is a rock band from Dalarna, Sweden, with a sound that combines today's rock with classic Rock'n'Roll. The band is inspired by legends such as Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and the Rolling Stones, but is also influenced by bands such as Guns'n'Roses, Mötley Crüe and Airbourne. This together results in a modern rock show, with sporadic looks back to the 70s.

Andy and the Rockets was formed in 2012 after Andreas Forslund (Vocal & Guitar) met the Swedish music producer Sebastian Fronda. The songwriting was already underway when Andreas came into contact with Filip Westgärds (Bass) and formed the band. Shortly afterwards, the former metal drummer Max Marcusson joined together with Robin Lagerqvist on solo guitar, who has several US tours under his belt. The debut single "Shy Girl", which was released at the beginning of 2013, was played daily on several of Sweden's major radio stations, and the success could not be counted on the ten fingers of the hand! Andy and the Rockets began touring extensively throughout Sweden, and later that year the EP "Magnify the Small" was released

After a while, Robin left the band, and Anton Britz stepped in as the new guitarist. The band continued to tour at the same time as they had started working on their first album. The songs were written by Martin Engström and Chris Bergström, and the record was produced by Martin together with Andy and the Rockets. The album was released just in time for the summer of 2017, and the single "Come a little Closer" quickly reached both radio and chart additions globally.

However, after the intense touring that followed, Anton chose to put the guitar on the shelf and leave the band. In early 2020, Robin reunited with the band.
