As usual, I don't like it when a long-time favorite artist suddenly changes their sound, which in this case has been working for him for OVER A DECADE. Moving on from that comment, I do take notice in the fact that he hasn't lost any lyrical talent in the process. I just haven't really cared for the songs besides that. I do love Synesthesia...but I can just take or leave the others. I guess Learn to Dance and Catching Cold are distant 2nds. I guess After the Fire wasn't memorable at all, because I don't remember how it sounds. I still look forward to a full album so I have more of this experiment to listen to. I just don't understand why he needed to go solo when JM was completely his thing to begin with. I don't get the logic behind this change.
