Biography

In a not clarified day of several years ago, Andrea Sartori and Francesco Maddalena built up the Homework project. One day Maddalena climbed upon an enormous bean stalk, leaving the young single father Andrea to look after the newborn creature. His first electronic productions come to light in the year 2002, thanks to the influences of friends like Phooka, Touane, Shaduz and R-Stone. With them Andrea gets the first Homework Festival (www.homeworkfestival.net) edition started. Andrea Sartori (aka DeepAlso) condenses an original and mature sound, an alchemy of funk, dub, jazz and minimal techno. His tracks concentrate on arrangements and rythms that ironically exalt the expressive power of electronic music, playing piano and synth's sequences and programming drum machine's patterns with extremely personalized techniques. Our beloved progenitors, floundering in their graves) would call it "stilus fantasticus": a recreational sound, which reminds the seventies' funk-fusion frivolity, the disengagement video games and cartoons soundtracks and the Italian "" (easy listening music). The adding of dub sounds, full of delays and reverbs, underlines Andrea's moody and rapsodic side. Today Andrea Sartoriis one of the most esteemed artists of the Italian's electronic scene. His name is constantly in the calendars of some of the most important venues and festival in Italy and Europe. The sweaty dj's t-shirt surely does not fit to him, maybe because of too much rum & coke in his belly, but mostly because, during his live performances, our guy is caught by an erotic furor, which is set free through an unexpected punk soul. He is even told to have a Herbie Hancock's portrait on his night table…
