They are no longer a metal band and I realize that offends some of their older fans. It's definitely not the first time a band has changed directions. There's always the early stuff for those fans to enjoy. I really love the current incarnation of their sound, so I appreciate the change in direction. It's not as if they shifted to something mainstream, so everyone can appreciate them for that.

Vocals are like a cross between Porcupine Tree and Amplifier

Musicians influence other musicians, it's been happening since music has existed. Not a big deal at all.

In the chorus it really does sound like Steven Wilson singing. Anyway, it's a great song despite soundoing a little overly PT influenced.

I was going to say sounds nothing like PT until the middle onwards, regardless it's a brilliant song!

i just wanted to write that it sounds pretty much like porcupine tree but apparently it's not just me... ;) it doesn't mean i don't like it - quite the opposite, in fact - but im still feeling kinda strange about it.

Definately PT/Radiohead. It's got Steven Wilson's signature all over it. Not saying that is a bad thing though :)

Okay srsly, Steven Wilson only did the mixing on this album. I seriously doubt he had any other input on the development of the album.
