Also, holy shit, there's more introspection, self-deprecation and dwelling on the tragic aspects of life in this one album than in Peter Hammill's whole discography. Impressive.

it's deeply personal, so it feels weird to put a qualifier on it, but it's... fine. Just ok. None of the 6+ minute tracks are varied enough to justify the length. Could've/should've trimmed it down a good bit, and it might've been great.

a year later, i've deleted the album. went from "just ok" to "hate it". repetitive and self-indulgent.
