The musical evolution in this album is colossal. By far this album is superior to their previous works which sound meaninglessly repetitive with a lack of idea about how to orchestrate noise and dark ambience into an organised musical form. The proficient use of post-metal style guitar tones and arrangements in this album is just phenomenal, which perfectly crafted the harrowing atmosphere of this album. It is a shame that this band split up after releasing this awesome work.

I really hated this album when it came out because it didn't have those fifteen minute epics on it, but it really stands as one of their best works. A Remedy and a Fever really hits me nowadays.

Still one of the crowning achievements of black metal in general. A total masterpiece. Haunting, beautiful, disturbing and a challenging but rewarding listen.

Regarding the tracklist order, it appears that the Profound Lore vinyl edition has "Twelve Was Ruin" as track #5 (https://www.discogs.com/Altar-Of-Plagues-Teethed-Glory-And-Injury/release/4826356) and the others have "A Remedy and a Fever" as #5. Since their Bandcamp has "A Remedy and a Fever" as #5, I'll assume that's official. I think I just assumed the PL vinyl edition was correct earlier on. Anyway, this is still one of the best BM releases of the decade, and I still haven't heard anything else that sounds like it. Too bad they disbanded, but on the other hand, I'm not sure how they'd have topped this, so I can see why they may have felt like they'd accomplished everything they could.

…I need to correct myself again. There’s no mistake in the vinyl packaging, as far as I can make out; the vinyl releases just have a different song order. In other words, “A Remedy and a Fever” is actually track number six in the vinyl releases and “Twelve Was Ruin” is track number five, but in the CD and digital releases, it’s the opposite. I’m going to guess the band swapped the songs in order to keep the sides roughly equivalent in length. In either case, “A Remedy and a Fever” should be around 8:45 long, and “Twelve Was Ruin” should be about 4:33.

This has really, really got its claws in me lately. I wasn't aware they'd disbanded, what a shame.

the track listing is right. A Remedy And A Fever is 8:44. the pirated versions have it swapped

Btw, the tracklist is wrong. "A Remedy and a Fever" and "Twelve Was Ruin" should be swapped. The song lengths are incorrect as well; "Twelve Was Ruin" is 8:44 and "A Remedy and a Fever" is 4:33. And yep, this is definitely a masterpiece.

White Tomb eventually became one of my favorite metal records, I was looking forward to Mammal... And it turned out to be not as good as I expected. I was pretty sad, I thought White Tomb was going to be Altar of Plagues' only majestic album in their career. When TG&I came out, I didn't even listen to it... I listened to it two months ago for the first time, and boy was I wrong! This album was the best thing they could possibly record to say goodbye! I'm just sad I never had the chance to see them!

I guess I can see why they broke up; they couldn't possibly have topped this. Holy fuck.

This album is a serious grower. And it was good in the first place, it just keeps getting better with every listen.

Much better than I was expecting it to be (2) Infact! i think the sound and direction is absolutely fuckin ace... i just can't help but think it could have been so much more though,it annoys me how (and i realise its blatantly intentional) the flow is cut and chopped tbh... if this is a mere glimpse of what the future of AOP is gunna sound like then i look forawrd to it,but for now i'll just enjoy this : )
