Biography
Ali Akbar Moradi (born 1957) is a well known Kurdish musician and composer. He was born in Kermanshah in south west Kurdistan. He started music at a very early age, he learned the Kurdish maqam repertoire and became the greatest Kurdish master of tanbur.
Parvin Namazi (born in 1955) is a singer from Mashhad, Iran. She started her singing career on television at the age of nine. Namazi traveled to Germany to pursue her studies when she was eighteen. While in Berlin, she studied the Radif with Hossein Alizadeh and performed numerous concerts throughout Europe as a member of Hamavayan Ensemble. Namazi's interest in Kurdish language and culture inspired her to live in Kurdistan for some time and to learn the culture and music of that region. Her association with Kurdish masters of music launched her new artistic activities, and the outcome of this era is the album "Kurdaneh".
