Ontario, Canada (2001 – present)
The band’s name is a sort-of homage to an adult entertainer named Alexis Fire, who claimed to be the world’s only lactating contortionist stripper. This caused problems when she discovered that they were using her website name (alexisonfire.com) as their band name, and threatened to sue. However, since she had never trademarked the title nothing became of these threats. In the end, the band decided to change their website’s URL in spite to theonlybandever.com
Alexisonfire’s lyrical topics range from relationship troubles to go-karting. They have two primary vocalists, screaming duties carried out by George Pettit, and singing by Dallas Green, with support from Wade MacNeil.
While their largest fanbase is in their home country of Canada, they are also becoming more popular in other parts of the world, including the U.S. Recently they toured Europe, the UK and Australia with the band Rise Against, with numerous European venues selling out or having to be upgraded to accommodate the large number of fans.

Dispanding stuff? As much as a still love Alexisonfire, I wish they still made songs like "Little Girls Pointing and Laughing".....While trying not to sound like one of those annoying people that always claim a bands early work was their best....for Alexisonfire it totally was :D... Kinda sad when they came to NZ...they only played 1 song off it...(44 Calibre)

okay, but why do they pull off the one song from the album that doesn't fit that description to play it live? doesn't quite make sense...since the whole disbanding stuff i don't buy another word of what AOF say in interviews.

deanster321 wrote:
Well that song doesn't sound like the s/t, but in other interviews they've said the next album is going to be weird and experimental and stuff like that, which would probably put it closer to their first two albums than Crisis.

Fatty3 wrote:
that report is crap - how does it sound similar to the s/t?? it's more like crisis - the guitar riffs, the chordings, more screaming from george sounds exactly like the song Crisis.
