"Breathe Slow" is the confirmed fourth single from Alesha Dixon and the second from her second album, The Alesha Show, released on Asylum Records, an offshoot of Atlantic Records. The song has been added to the prestigious BBC Radio 1 A-list.

Music video
The video is about breaking up with a boy, and Alesha going out to try and forget about it, the video is set in Las Vegas in which there are scenes where she sits in a cafe and leaves her ring, and also when Alesha walks down a busy street in a show-girl outfit. As well as this Alesha is seen dancing alone in studio. The video ends with her entering the stage door of a show with an Elvis inpersonator and two other show-girls stood outside.

Reception

Popular blog Popjustice made the single their Song of the Day on December 30th 2008, saying "Everyone loves Alesha Dixon. Most people are quite indifferent about purchasing her musical releases. As time goes by we probably have to accept this as fact, but songs like 'Breathe Slow' do offer some hope that she might 'hit the mark' and have a big proper hit one day."

Trash Lounge said "It's nowhere near the same league as 'The Boy Does Nothing', but 'Breathe Slow' is still a pretty decent offering from its hit-and-miss parent album." The song entered the Trash Lounge Absolute Tunes Top 10 on week commencing 5 January 2009 at No9, rising next week to No5.

The track entered the UK Top 100 a month before its release at No92, due to downloads of the song from The Alesha Show. The week after on Sunday 11th January, Breathe Slow made it into the top 40 reaching #39 just on downloads from the album. It has so far peaked at #13, still with two weeks until its physical CD release.

Charts

In the United Kingdom, Breathe Slow climbed from 163 to 92 on 4 January 2009 on the strength of downloads of the track from the album, giving the song a whole month to gather momentum up the Top 100 before its official single release. To date the song has peaked at #13.

Following hot on the heels of top 5 single 'The Boy Does Nothing', Alesha gave us 'Breathe Slow', a beautiful ballad of love and heartbreak which reached No.3 in the UK chart in January 2009. Alesha was one of nine celebs (including Cheryl Cole, Ronan Keating and Gary Barlow) to reach the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of 'Comic Relief' in March.
