This song came out right about the time my dad was teaching me to drive. Perfect!

I remember when Daddy let me drive, but in the same breath when I locked the keys in the old pick-up truck at the deer lease my driving experiences seemed to taper off. I guess he really liked hunting. He is forever missed... Love you Dad.

I remember the first time my dad let me drive ,stting on he lap, I drove the whole family and the car in the ditch. Mom said Dad couldn't let me drive any more. I'm 51 yrs old now. My dads been gone 20 yrs. I shed a tear every time I hear this song, and like Mr.Jackson I hope my childern will not only remimber when I let drive, I hope they too will have a song as good as this one to bring that memory back. Thank you Mr. Jackson.

i wrote a screenplay (more like a scene) in which a father discusses with his 9-year-old son as they drive home the specificities of learning how to drive (keep in mind that the brazilian legislation regarding driving licences is quite different from the u.s.). i love this song because of this pure egoistical reason and because it's such a beautiful, nostalgic tune.
