Adele has said that “Melt My Heart to Stone” is her favorite song on the record, stating that: “I just love it. When I wrote it, I was crying. The song is about breaking up a relationship.”
She explained to The Guardian’s 1000 Songs Everyone Must Hear that “Melt My Heart to Stone” is “quite a sad song, it’s about giving everything for someone, which is what love is all about.”
She further noted that “all the words came out in one take, as I was singing it.”
