Adam Ant probably doesn't get as much credit as a punk pioneer because of his later success, which to the punk subculture translated as a sell-out, and because he never quite embraced the banners of political revolution, opting instead for more refined lyrics with surrealist references to history and art that most listener probably had no damn idea about. Oh, and then there's sadomasochism; a recurring theme in his songwriting. In any case, this Adam and the Arts record is seminal in my books, a real wild ride that takes one into really strange places and with more to it that sheer attitude.

Kick (Single version) has to be one of the most primal pieces of rock music ever. Those drums in the beginning and the crashing guitars.

This was great even without adding the handful of other great tracks from the period. Few things please me as much as listening to this start to finish.
