Ruth Bullock spent hours singing and writing songs in her North Wales bedroom, never imagining one Twitter post would shoot her into the spotlight.
The 23-year-old singer, who goes by the name A Girl Called Ruth, moved from Conwy to work in a London cafe and perform at open mic nights in November.
She kept a blog detailing her lonely beginning in London, and chanced her luck one day by following BBC Wales Music on Twitter, who then listened to her songs online.
Within weeks, Ruth was headline news on the BBC Wales website and drawing admiration from well-established bands like Scouting For Girls and music critics alike.
