After a lot of time with this one, I think it's a good average release for ADTR. It's solid but at points it starts to sound like a Fall Out Boy derivative. Could have been better but I love a few of them.

I retract this. I actually like this album a fair bit. I don't agree with all the production choices but by and large I think it's solid and I can go for the vibe they were going for.

For me Best of 2021 goes to Love and Death - Perfectly Preserved for now. This one is just okay

1st listen was gross, the 2nd listen was actually ok. I enjoyed a good amount of songs or at least parts of it. For sure their worst and most directionless album but I guess there are a few songs I will come back to from time to time. Miss their older style though, used to be one of my favorite bands, I also loved Bad Vibrations. But most importantly, as long as they go on killing it life I will get over this.

Was a huge fan back in the day when Homesick just came out. This one sounds bleak.. You wanna listen to a great record? Go listen to the last The Ghost Inside album.

Ok, I've listened to this album 7 or 8 times now from front to back. It's definitely not that bad, but it's their weakest effort. Soft and ungenuine, ADTR GOES POP style.. I just miss that particular drive that makes ADTR sound unique. Seems like the guys may be going through creative crisis, or not. The fuck I know. Love Brick Wall, singles and Last Chance to Dance + Permanent. Some ambient parts in verses of Looks Like Hell or Only Money are also nice but it's just a lot of them and many sound kinda the same. Let's hope the new album in the future strays away from that particular direction.

I'm perfectly okay with bands changing - it's perfectly natural, actually. A more pop-oriented sound should, in theory, work for this band - some of their best songs are pop-oriented ones (The Downfall Of Us All, NJ Legion Iced Tea, Monument, Right Back At It Again). What Separates Me From You also focused a bit more on more pop-friendly songs, and it was pretty good for the most part. The major issues I have with this album would be the absolutely godawful mixing and the messy, directionless songwriting. Also, some of it just straight up sounds like a pop punk version of Imagine Dragons, and that's not exactly my cup of tea. If other people get enjoyment out of this, that's cool and I'm glad some folks are able to get into it, but this is just doing nothing for me honestly.

precisely. BMTH and Architects change of sound was more "pop" oriented but still very creative and developing for example, this here is just plain awful

Why on Earth a band would release something like this? Why just to not release anything?
